When you hear the terms ‘branding’ majority of people think it just involves a logo, however branding involves far more than this.
The latest ‘Rise & Design’ meeting aims to discuss the importance of branding in product and service design and examples of how this can be achieved successfully.
The speakers include:
Roy Sandbach, Research Fellow – Procter & Gamble
- ‘Brand equity, the key to design direction’
Grant Marshall, Creative Director – tdg - The Design Group
- The importance of getting the brand proposition right for the target audience
You will also be more than welcome to get involved in a 'Question and Answer' session with the speakers.
As part of this meeting, there will be an opportunity for you to discuss ideas or issues with other companies about how branding could make a difference to your business as well as a brief insight into Design Network North’s latest activities.
A number of local design and branding agencies will be exhibiting after the meeting, giving you an opportunity to meet them and discuss any branding issues you may have. This will also give you the opportunity to network with other DNN members.
If you are interested in attending then please register above.
Opportunties
We would like to give two companies the opportunity to take one of our two minute pitches at the meeting.
- If you are looking for some feedback on your branding or perhaps want to test out some new ideas, then why not present it to the group and see what they really think.
- If you would like to present your company, a recent success story or a problem you’d like help with, then take the floor for two minutes with a couple of slides, and see what happens.
If you are interested in either of the opportunities above please get in touch, enquiries@designnetworknorth.org, and we will be in contact with more details.
About Rise & Design

Each meeting has a specific theme and will feature presentations from experts in the field. You will also be able to discuss with other companies how applying these ideas could make a difference to your business.

Design Network North
Design Network North supports innovative companies, helping them to utilise high quality design skills and processes.
We accomplish this by offering specialised product design, industrial design and new product development support.
Good design is the key to future competitiveness. At a time when product quality standards are universally high and costs have been driven relentlessly downward, design and improved functionality have become the most important factors in the marketplace.
Intended to enhance regional companies’ ability to employ high-quality design, skills and processes, Design Network North works closely with other regional, national and international design projects, and helps those without access to the relevant design skills, achieve their aspirations for growth. Design Network North also holds regular networking events, 'Rise & Design', and delivers onsite Design Performance Workshops to embed good design within your business.
The Northern Design Centre will form a regional focal point for use of design by North East England’s businesses and service providers. Throughout each year, the design centre will feature work not just from local product designers but examples from all areas of design.
Funded by Gateshead Council and the European Regional Development Fund, the network is co-ordinated by RTC North Ltd in Sunderland.
